Rationale
Spring nesting season produces material clutch volumes across all 14 ponds. Current practice is silent on whether unhatched eggs constitute mallards under custody. KPMQ LLP has requested a documented policy ahead of the Q2 2026 attestation.
Proposed action
Record clutches as contingent assets in attestation footnotes only. Hatchlings enter audited reserves upon confirmed imprinting on an authorized custodian, not upon hatch, to prevent double-counting of ducklings that imprint on visitors, dogs or maintenance equipment.
Risk factors
Predation by herons and foxes between hatch and imprinting may cause contingent assets to lapse without recovery. Clutch counts are estimates and will not be audited.
